Skytrail has received confirmation from mangrove restoration partner veritree that all trees funded through its 2025 planting programme have now been planted and independently verified.
The update marks the completion of the latest phase of Skytrail’s environmental partnership, which supports mangrove restoration projects in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique. According to veritree’s latest impact report, Skytrail has ordered 108,020 mangrove trees, with 96,020 now planted and verified through planting data, photographic evidence and geospatial tracking.
The project has contributed to the restoration of almost 11 hectares of coastal habitat, equivalent to approximately 414 tennis courts, while also providing an estimated 216 days of work for local communities involved in planting activities.

veritree’s verification process records detailed information from each planting session, including site boundaries, species data, photographs and location mapping. To date, the project has generated evidence from 16 planting sessions, supported by more than 1,000 photographs and 33 geospatial data layers.
Beyond sequestration capture, mangrove restoration plays an important role in protecting coastal communities from flooding and erosion, supporting biodiversity and creating sustainable sources of income. veritree estimates that the trees planted so far through our partnership could sequester more than 26,000 tonnes of CO₂ over their lifetime.
Skytrail will continue to monitor progress through the veritree platform, which provides ongoing visibility of planting activity and environmental impact across the restoration sites.
